Recommended needles:
The needle size depends on the number of individual threads used
- Embroidery needle 1-10
- Tapestry needle 18-28
- Ballpoint Embroidery Needle 3-7
- Wool darning needle 18
TIP:
Always choose a needle that is slightly too large, this protects the sensitive thread
Thread length should not be longer than 25 cm
- Larger insertion hole
- Threads do not rub so strongly against the embroidery base
General information
- 18 thread
- divisible
- Base material: metallized bouclette thread
- with reinforcing thread
- much easier to process than the base material!
- Single thread can be used as a supplementary thread with other threads (e.g. wool)
- from 4 threads it can be processed without the addition of another thread
- great “wipe-clean” effect (caused by the strong refraction of light)
- Use carefully, otherwise the glitter effect will overwhelm adjacent surfaces
- also suitable as a laying thread: Twist threads strongly beforehand
- Can be ruched by tightening one or more threads
- Use short working thread: max. 25cm
- Take a needle one size larger than would actually be necessary
